i'm quickly learning that here in little rock, it's all or nothing.  while I was preparing earlier this week to blog about the ongoing, months-long drought filled, excessively hot days of summer, we were suddenly bowled over by a cold front accompanied by days of thunder, black clouds, sudden temperature drops and yes, rain!  while i couldn't be happier about giving my hose a rest, i still have that pesky issue of the windshield wipers.  driving in the daytime drizzle is no big deal but driving at night in the steady rain with one headlight is somewhat challenging.  lucky for me, the commute is 6 minutes and everyone around here is pretty good at driving.  oh wait, no they're not.  

 

speaking of tom cruise...katie holmes was on the "so you think you can dance" finale last night and i cannot get over how terrible she was.  the point of being a judge is to give constructive criticism or at least be somewhat entertaining and have a basic knowledge of dance, right?  she did nothing but look at her notes (which resulted in long, awkward pauses and lots of "uhhhhs"), told everyone they were "really strong", and hoped they were "having a good night".  i seriously think she was drugged out (cuz who wouldn't be as a result of marrying a total nutjob) or she just plain stinks at everything.  have you seen her movies???  

 

next week i'm headed home (finally!!!) and i couldn't be more excited!  i get to see my long lost grandparents, aunts, cousins, friends, and the little ones i adore so much!  what ever shall i wear??  i guess i'd better get the suitcase out of the attic at some point.  while i still have a week to wait for the all important, albeit quick shopping trip to kop, there is still tonight.  and i have lots to do and an early morning at work.  dinner is waiting and the GOP debate is on soon!  for which i'll be glued to the tv.  nothing gets me like politics!
